BOXER.
MENTOR.
POET.
Before hearing the ring of the opening bell as an amateur boxer Daniel found comfort and solidarity in Poetry, which accompanied him into a top 10 ranking of professional boxers in the UK and a Southern Area Title.
Aside from exchanging venomous punches penning his passions and experiences Mr Mendes manages to work full-time as a behaviour mentor for teenagers who are excluded or on the verge of exclusion from mainstream education.
Daniel believes that his experiences have a lot to teach any of us who are in danger of feeling overwhelmed by the challenges we face. He uses the obstacles he has cleared as motivational tools in business settings as well as schools and youth clubs.
Hostilities made me a man of peace,
Failures made me unable to surrender,
Darkened days eventually made me the illuminator.
We often tire of this existence despite our ceaseless strength.
Don’t just cover ground with those shoes…
Represent.
